Every renewal season the same story repeats: a professional remembers CE in the last days, rushes through it, and then finds out something needs fixing. Here is how to avoid that.

Why waiting is risky

• Reporting takes time. After you finish, your provider reports the completion to the DBPR electronically. Reported hours usually appear in your DBPR account within a few business days, and that is not instant.
• Mistakes happen. A misspelled name or a wrong license number needs a correction, and corrections take days.
• Life gets busy. A full schedule, a sick child or a slow week can eat the days you were counting on.
• Late renewals cost more. Renewing after your license expires can bring late fees and a delinquent status. Check your own expiration date in your DBPR online account.

A simple plan

1. Find your expiration date today. Look at your license in your DBPR online account and put the date in your phone calendar.
2. Work backward. Give yourself at least a month before that date to finish CE, plus extra time for reporting.
3. Register and verify your license. Have your license type and number ready. Our system checks it against the DBPR public records automatically.
4. Study in short sessions. The course is 10 hours, so 30 to 45 minutes a day finishes it in about two weeks. You can pause and return whenever you want.
5. Take the quiz when you feel ready. The quiz needs 75% to pass and you can retake it, so there is no need to memorize in a panic.
6. Save your certificate. Download it right away. We also email a copy.
7. Confirm the report. A few business days later, check your DBPR account to see that the hours appear. If they do not, contact us.

Study on your own schedule
